RABBIT
If I had to pick one thing I love most about teaching Art at camp (and this is a little bit of a complex phenomena to describe), it would be the impact of offering such an incredibly broad and accessible range of choices from which a camper can choose to learn, because on an individual level that learning fosters curiosity and self-worth through an individualized guided struggle. The struggle is that everyone underestimates the effort and time required to make their chosen artifact well. This realization and the resulting sticktoitiveness, and the pride of accomplishment are often greater than the item produced, which is a wonderful bonus side effect of producing unique, high quality art and crafts in such a diverse and open ended department.
